Sunday Services

We are so glad you are considering visiting our church!  Sunday services start at 10am and run until 11:00am.   You may attend in person or via Zoom.   If you are attending in person, we encourage you to join us for coffee hour after the service.  On line attendees enjoy virtual coffee hour.

What to expect at Sunday service

Our services lift up and celebrate a diverse range of theological beliefs.   We incorporate into our services the texts of the world's faith traditions and the poetry and prose, both secular and religious, of a wide range of writers and thinkers.

The format of the service is often that of a typical Protestant service and includes:

  • Call to Worship
  • Hymns
  • Choral Introit and Anthem
  • Children’s Focus
  • Time of Joy and Concern (when the community shares the joys and sorrows of their week)
  • Prayer and Meditation
  • Offertory (with special music)
  • Sermon

We do occasionally stray from this format and venture into more creative territory: we have had music services, services that incorporate dance, earth centered ritual, services focused on making prayer flags, and more.

Music is a central part of our worship, and we are so lucky to have talented musicians and an exuberant choir. The choir rehearses at 9am on Sunday -- all are welcome to join.

Our minister leads worship every Sunday but one per month. The remaining Sundays, worship is led by our gifted lay Worship Associates. Attire ranges from suits and ties to blue jeans and tee-shirts. We will joyfully welcome you as you are!

You may watch a service to get a sense of how we worship.

We love kids and are always glad to have them with us! We do have a small room at the back of the sanctuary with toys where you may bring your children if they are feeling restless, but we do ask that you stay with them in the room (you can hear the service there).
