Have you ever struggled to juggle a newborn baby with work responsibilities? Or needed to take a month or more off from work to care for an ailing family member?
We are pleased to invite you to a community discussion with Maine House Speaker Sara Gideon to discuss a Paid Family and Medical Leave system in Maine (LD 1410), hosted by the Social Justice Committee at First Universalist Church of Auburn. The employee-funded proposal would provide for paid time off to care for an ailing family member or a newborn.
Speaker Gideon will be joined by a handful of community members who will share their personal stories and why a Paid Family Medical Leave system matters to them, followed by Q&A with the audience.
