| Minister, Rev. Dr. Jodi Cohen Hayashida graduated from Meadville/Lombard Theological School in 2000 with a D.Min. She was awarded the Paul Carnes preaching prize and Meadville/Lombard's preaching prize. Her training included a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Mass. General Hospital in Boston, serving an internship at First Unitarian In St. Louis, MO, a student placement at People's Church of Chicago (a UU/UCC church), a summer ministry in Reading, MA, and serving Elkhart, IN, in a Visiting Minister capacity for a year. She also has a BA in history from the University of New Hampshire. She began her settled ministry here in Auburn in the summer of 2000. While she loves to sing, play the piano, dance, and work on her skills on the bodhran, she spends most of her time joyfully tending to her two children, Kaia and Tessa, and her husband, Michael. |
| Organist, Phil House has been our organist for over 20 years. Originally from Bryant Pond, ME, Phil traveled the southern US, settling for a time in Tennessee where he spent time playing organ and piano in Southern Baptist churches. It was there he learned and developed his unique stride piano style. Phil has recorded several solo piano CD projects and even one pipe organ recording back in 2007. Currently, when he's not playing at church, he works as an administrator for John F. Murphy Homes, Inc. |
| Director of Religious Exploration, Clara Bolduc, with her background in special education and the creative arts, brings her formidable skills to the DRE position; overseeing and coordinating children's activities for the church, as well as Sunday morning classes. She has volunteered her time over the years for a variety of religious, social justice, and community arts organizations, most notably as the founder and director of the Kurland Mural Project in South Africa. She has also worked as a teacher at the Renaissance School in Auburn. Clara lives in Auburn with her husband Glen and their sons Simon and Nelson. |
| Office Administrator, Karen Lane returned to the area, after more than 15 years away, and bought a house 2 blocks from where she was born. She shares it with her daughter and her grandmother. Her work history includes such jobs as migrant worker, ranch manager and lawyer, and she especially enjoys ballroom dancing, theater (especially our own UU Theatre!) and travel.. |

Choir Director, David Rowe grew up surrounded by music. A third generation professional musician, both of his grandfathers and both of his parents played professionally, and Dave is pleased to continue in the family business. Aside from being our choir director, his current projects include a storied solo career as a singer-songwriter and traditional music performer. He also leads the Dave Rowe Trio, one of Maine's premier folk music ensembles and runs his own professional recording/mastering studio at his home. Dave currently resides in Raymond, ME with his wife, Kimberly, and two children, McKenzie and Kieran.
